Listening Session Home

The Children of Incarcerated Parents (COIP) Listening Session will be held in Washington DC, September 30, 2013, at the Eisenhower Executive Office Building. For many children, growing up healthy, educated and free from violence can be challenging. When the parent is incarcerated, the challenges may be even greater. On behalf of the White House Domestic Policy Council and the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, we are hosting a 1 day Listening Session as a continued effort to discuss how to improve mentoring services for these vulnerable children and to ensure that all children get the best possible start in life.

Those in Attendance

By invitation only. The Mentoring Children of Incarcerated Parents (COIP) Listening Session will bring together Champions of Change, National Mentoring Experts, Researchers, Parents and Youth to discuss the essential services needed for children of incarcerated parents.
